El trailer veterinario retoma su actividad en los barrios
Se hace necesario trabajar en nuestra ciudad sobre la problemática de los perros callejeros que aún continúa presente en las calles y espacios públicos del centro y barrios.
La tenencia responsable de animales es un tema de crucial importancia para el desarrollo de las áreas urbanas. La presencia de animales sueltos por las calles y diversos espacios públicos, en su mayoría perros, genera no sólo un perjuicio para el mismo animal que no tiene un lugar apropiado para comer, dormir y para mantenerse sano, sino también para la comunidad toda ya que pueden interferir en el tránsito, morder a alguien, contagiar enfermedades, impedir el libre paseo, etc.
Se trata de una temática que se repite año tras año en nuestra ciudad y, pese a algunas campañas realizadas, aún hoy hay perros callejeros en distintas zonas que afectan a la población, como ser la zona de la costanera, las distintas plazas donde los animales se resguardan, en el centro y en los barrios también.
En este marco, la ONG nicoleña de proteccionismo animal y ambientalista “San Francisco de Asís” dio a conocer que a partir del próximo lunes 9 de enero se reiniciará la actividad de castraciones itinerantes en los barrios a través del trailer veterinario municipal.
Cronograma
La presidenta de la organización, Amara Larivera, manifestó que dicha acción fue acordada con el Gobierno Municipal, mediante una comunicación con el secretario Privado Manuel Passaglia a quien le manifestaron la necesidad de retomar esa actividad de importancia para el control y cuidado de los animales.
Indicó que, a raíz de ello, Manuel Passaglia tomó contacto con el director municipal de Veterinaria Dr. Hernán Botinelli con quien acordaron los días, horarios y barrios por donde comenzarán la semana entrante.
De este modo, las castraciones se iniciarán en el Barrio Golf (zona sur). Para ello, los vecinos del lugar deberán llevar a sus perros, perras, gatos y gatas que serán atendidos por orden de llegada desde las 8:00 y hasta las 12:00. Según lo previsto se intervendrán quirúrgicamente un mínimo de 10 animales diarios durante una semana.
Por la tarde el trailer se dirigirá a Álvarez 64 -sede de Veterinaria- para continuar allí con el mismo trabajo. Los turnos para esta tarea deberán adquirirse cada viernes desde las 8:00, en ese lugar para ser utilizados a la semana siguiente.
Se procederá así hasta que se concluya el Quirófano Veterinario, aún en construcción. Además, recordó que -para ser castrados- los animales deben estar con 12 horas de ayuno de sólidos, 6 horas de ayuno de líquidos y se debe aportar una venda Cambric de 10 o 15 cm de ancho o sustituto.
